EFL Students’ Perspectives in English

The purpose of this study is to find out what are the challenges faced by EFL
students in speaking English. This research uses descriptive qualitative research
which analyzes EFL students' perspectives on challenges in speaking English, with
data collection methods in the form of questionnaires and interviews conducted in
PBI 2021B class which has 45 students. The data analysis technique uses
descriptive data analysis techniques in analyzing research data obtained from the
process of systematically searching and collecting data obtained from
questionnaires and then conducting interviews. This study found several challenges
faced in speaking English, namely students lack of understanding Lack of
vocabulary, fear of mistake and shyness, Anxiety and lack of confidence, Lack of
motivation, Unsupportive environment, Lack of grammar knowledge.
