The different characters of students become the basis for a teacher in managing their&#13;
emotions. Apart from the different characteristics of students, teachers often face challenges in&#13;
creating a comfortable learning environment because of limited emotional interaction with their&#13;
students, so teachers have to emotional regulation. This lack of connectedness can hinder their&#13;
ability to accurately assess students' understanding of the material. Therefore, this research&#13;
aims to determine the emotional regulation strategies used by EFL teachers at SMA and SMK&#13;
Maniamas.&#13;
This research involves analysis to obtain data using qualitative descriptive methods.&#13;
The sample consisted of two private high school and vocational school teachers. The sampling&#13;
technique used in this research was purposive sampling. Data collection instruments include&#13;
observation and interviews. In this qualitative research, researchers use triangulation of data&#13;
sources to ensure information is conveyed consistently. Data analysis is divided into three&#13;
stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion.&#13;

The researcher found that Subject 1 utilized Situation Modification strategies, while&#13;
Subject 2 employed Situation Selection and Attentional Deployment strategies for emotion&#13;
regulation. The researcher suggests that future studies should examine the effectiveness of&#13;
different emotion regulation strategies in various teaching contexts and subjects, particularly&#13;
techniques such as situation selection, response modification, and distraction.</note>
