AN ERROR ANALYSIS OF TELLING TIME IN
ENGLISH SUBJECT (A CASE STUDY OF X GRADER OF SMAS
NGARIMANAN SOMPAK SCHOOL YEAR 2024/2025 LANDAK
DISTRICT). Thesis, English Education Study Program, College of
Teacher Training and Education, Santo Agustinus Catholic University
Hippo. August 2024. The purpose of this study was to determine the types
of telling time errors of grade X students of Ngarimanan Sompak High
School in the 2024/2025 school year.
This research is a qualitative research. This reseach was conducted
at Ngarimanan Sompak High School in the academic year 2024/2025 from
January 2024 to August 2024. The subjects of this research were students
of class X of Ngarimanan Sompak High School in the academic yeear
2024/2025, totaling thirty-two (32) students.
The results of data analysis show that the average precentage of
telling time error of class X students of Ngarimanan Sompak Senior High
School in the 2024/2025 academic year is 17%. Error (o’clock) is 12%,
error (past) by 26%, error (half) by 12%, error (to) by 34 %, error (am) by
5%, error (pm) by 11%. The highest and most frequent error made by
students is the to error with a percentage of thirty-four percent (34%),
while the lowest error is the am error with a percentage of five percent
(5%). The contributions of the researcher are identifying common errors,
more appropriate teaching guidelines, curriculum improvement, data
driven learning, student awareness of errors.
