Motivation is a very important and influential factor in the learning process. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of student motivation in speaking English, and find out the factors that influence student motivation in speaking English. This research uses a mixed method design by combining two forms of research, namely qualitative and quantitative. The sample used are 15 female students consisting of 15. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The techniques used in data collection are questionnaires, observations and interviews. Data analysis in this study where quantitative data is initially analyzed, followed by qualitative data analysis. The results showed that the level of instrinsic motivation of high students had an average of (4.4), the dominant students had intrinsic motivation from indicators of self-desire, satisfaction, and challenge / competition. While the extrinsic factors of moderate students have an average of (3.3), the dominant students have extrinsic motivation from indicators of praise, advice, parents, teachers and the environment. The factor that most influences students is intrinsic motivation while the factor that least influences students is extrinsic motivation. By having intrinsic motivation, students will achieve success such as being able to speak English well, being able to pronounce English vocabulary and having a large vocabulary.
